Satvik Varma (Author)

Satvik Varma, born on June 9th, 1975 is a Litigation Counsel and Corporate Attorney and founder of Independent Law Chambers. His practice focuses primarily on corporate/commercial litigation, shareholder and company disputes, breach of contract and specific performance disputes, competition law and telecom/satellite law related litigation, insolvency proceedings and domestic and international arbitration

Satvik serves on the advisory board of the Asia Society India Centre. In 2007, Satvik was selected as the Asia Society Young Asian Leader to represent India at a regional summit attended by 400 leaders from all over Asia. Recently, Satvik was nominated the Aspen India Leadership Fellow a part of the world’s leading think-tank Aspen Institute.

Satvik's comments on various news channels were sought on the infamous admittance of team Anna's political aspirations, where although Satvik applauded Anna Hazare’s sincerity and determination for attempting to pave way for a corruption-free nation, he does not sugar coat his distaste to the antics and drama that surrounds the anti-corruption movement

Satvik also was asked to throw some light on the controversy surrounding the General's Age row. Satvik Varma also runs a New Delhi-based non-profit organization, “Support An Innocent Heart” (SAIH), which regularly facilitates heart-related surgeries on children born with congenital heart ailments. Satvik Varma has been lauded time again with praise from his clients. One such client, Mr. A R Chandrasekharan, the Executive Director and Company Secretary of Ashok Leyland, described working with Satvik Varma as ‘enriching’, in the Indian Law Firm Awards and highly recommended his work by saying that he is able to go beyond the scope of his work and give a considered and practical opinion to resolve the matter at hand.

Satvik has a keen interest in global and regional affairs and serves on the advisory board of the Asia Society India Centre, a United States not-for-profit. Satvik has been selected from amongst many as an Asia 21 Young Leader, where he actively engages with others from the Asia-Pacific to discuss issues of common interest to the region. Satvik is also a member of the Young Indians, an initiative operating under the aegis of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), to help motivate the youth to shape the economic and social agenda of India. Most recently Satvik was selected from a very large and diverse group of candidates as an Aspen India Leadership Fellow and is a cohort of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
