Sheetal Chopra, a Registered Patent Agent, presently heads the activities of the Intellectual Property Rights Division. Her work includes preparing research papers on policy issues; providing business solutions to various industries and the government through research and analysis; designing training modules for public awareness and capacity building programmes for enforcement agencies, academicians, legal practitioners, industry professionals and students; and assisting MSMEs in protection of their Intellectual Property. Her rich experience also includes working with the Intellectual Property Department of a multinational research based company where her area of work involved drafting patent applications, designing search strategies, searching prior art, patent landscaping, filing patent applications in India and abroad, responding to office actions, maintenance of patents so as to keep them enforced, patentability assessments, filing oppositions and assisting in providing freedom-to-operate opinions. Akash Taneja Ph.D. is a civil servant and is presently posted as Joint Director General of Foreign Trade in the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. He earlier worked as Executive Director FICCI Institute of Intellectual Property Development. He founded NIPO -The Indian IPR Foundation which is a voluntary organization for promotion, protection and development of Intellectual Property. He is a visiting faculty member in a number of academic and training institutions of national repute and has been involved in training and sensitizing enforcement agencies, legal professionals, industry executives and students on various aspects of intellectual property rights.
